Right-hander Randall Delgado will attempt to accomplish something most pitchers have been unable to lately - keep Giancarlo Stanton in check. Delgado gets the call for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, when they host Stanton and the Miami Marlins. Stanton has put together a seven-game hitting streak since being activated from the disabled list, where he spent six weeks with a strained right hamstring, recording four home runs and 10 RBIs during the run.
Two of the blasts came on Monday, when Miami rallied for a 3-2 victory. Stanton hit a game-tying two-run shot in the sixth inning before launching a solo homer in the ninth to give the Marlins their third win in four games. Paul Goldschmidt began to break out of his funk (3-for-33 in eight games) with a solo homer and an RBI single as the Diamondbacks suffered their fourth straight loss and seventh in nine contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Nathan Eovaldi (NR) vs. Diamondbacks RH Randall Delgado (0-0, 9.00)
Eovaldi will be activated from the 60-day disabled list to make his season debut. The 23-year-old went 3-0 in six starts during spring training before being shut down due to shoulder inflammation. Eovaldi, who has won both of his career starts against Arizona, went 4-13 with a 4.30 ERA in 22 outings as he split last season between Miami and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Delgado is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Reno to make his first start of 2013. The 23-year-old native of Panama was brought up from the minors on June 1 and allowed two runs over two innings of relief against the St. Louis Cardinals two days later before being demoted less than 24 hours afterward. Delgado made 17 starts for the Atlanta Braves last season, going 4-9 with a 4.42 ERA.
WALK-OFFS
1. Marlins LF Juan Pierre delivered a one-out single in the sixth inning Monday to extend his hitting streak to 13 games and break up Arizona LHP Patrick Corbin's no-hit bid. The single was the only hit for Miami other than Stanton's homers.
2. Stanton's second homer on Monday was the 100th of his career and sixth in 43 at-bats at Chase Field.
3. Goldschmidt leads the National League with 61 RBIs - five more than Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips and Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez.
